Lighthouses are Friends Forever

During challenging times, have you ever sat side by side with your closest friend, not say a word, and still intuitively know that amid the silence, this inseparable bond was providing you with the perfect understanding, strength and comfort needed in that very moment?
I believe lighthouses aglow are similar. They are friends upon the deep, dark unknown or in the middle of storm seas raging – friends whose helpfulness is never intrusive, yet always present and waiting to be leaned upon. For light has a language that does not need to be explained.
Like a close friend, we understand light without a word being uttered. A beacon flashes in the night, and suddenly, all in the world – at least in the seafarer’s world at that moment of time, is right. Though different, this same notion holds true for those of us on land who admire and cherish lighthouses.
Such silence does not prevent light’s counsel or its message of assurance from being conveyed. Nor does light’s quiet manner inhibit its strength or warmth. On the contrary, any source of hope that shines without being a disturbance to the restless heart, is a friend indeed.
And though many months – or even years, may pass before you call upon one or more of these friends again, you remember their friendship and kindness just the same. With certainty, you know the lighthouses will be there for you – steadfast and beaming.
This is a bond that will never require words – just an unshakeable feeling of knowing, thanks to a promise that glows through thick and thin. A promise that is unfailing, just like a true friend. This is what lighthouses have meant to countless people throughout history – a confidant when needed most.

Always love your photos of the magical lighthouses.
