Doubling Point Light

Diminutive, yet stalwart, is Doubling Point Lighthouse on the historic Kennebec. This guardian presides upon the edge of a confounding turn eastward for a mighty river determined to otherwise flow south bound and down.
Here, currents of quickened velocity, gnaw at riverbanks of mire. Plying past the endearing beacon are many crafts of pleasure and the occasional ship of force – but size and purpose matters not to this little one.
For whoever seeks an assurance of safe passage amidst the swift serpentine is comforted by a flashing white light – punctual and shipshape in all its gleaming ways, be they heading seaward or up to Bath and beyond.
